circa 1865, with octagonal 24in. barrel, the top-flat signed forwards of the standing notch rear-sight 'J.H. CRANE, SOLE AGENT, 3 ROYAL EXCHANGE LONDON' and behind the same sight 'FRANK WESSON, WORCESTER MASS, PAT'D OCT 25 1859 & NOV 11 1863', 'Rocky Mountain' fore-sight, moulded cast-iron tip-up action with central hammer and individual guarded triggers for opening and firing respectively, pan-head peep-sight mounted to top-tang, walnut butt-stock and plated brass semi-crescent heel-plate, no provision for fore-end, some areas of pitting throughout
